Year end...

Today is the 12th of December 2007, 19 more days to the new year 2008.

It's about time i do a little of year end review. 2007, so many things happened.

Graduation is definately top of my list. 4 years of hard work n i only got about 10 seconds on stage n that's it. Nevertheless, it does feel great to have the oppoturnity to wear the purple colour gown (despite the fact that i had to get help from almost every lady in the family to help me put on the blue shash.)

When most of the classmates were busy finding a place to chamber, i've already got an offer from the AG's chamber. Well, most people have ask me why i don't want to chamber? Well, it's a difficult question. I myself are still wondering whether i've made the right decision to join service eventhough i've been here for almost 6th months. Everyone has plans for each other. There are still more to learn and more to discover. I guess it's still too early to draw conclusion whether it's a right or wrong decision. I need some time to reflect where do i go from here, and how to excel in work without have to scarifice the valuable principles which i'm holding on to.

Eventhough i've left law school, i still miss it. It definately the best time in my life of being a law student. It's tough but when you have good frens to be with you during ups and downs, you can manage.

D 5th month

This is my 5th month working wit d agency... and i'm still surviving...it's juz i now sigh more often.
5 months are not long enough, but it seems 2 me tat i've went through a long journey...

I've always determined 2 become a DPP...and i'm now part of d prosecution team. My heard was full of excitement when i learn that i was posted 2 d prosecution division. It was like a dream come true.

I know DPP has a difficult job 2 do...when i started, i realised it is much more difficult than i thought. Come on, it's a life n liberty of a person tat we are talking about; and also d public's interest. The workload is juz overwhelming. I've lots of files 2 read, reseach 2 do, reports 2 write, bosses 2 brief, and also d travelling. Not forgetting 2 mention d tension when handling a case in court. (I got real panic when my opponent is a senior lawyer who 'looks' very kind.)

But...somehow, i manage. Thank goodness i have d bosses n frens around who is willing 2 lend a helping hand n guide me. And also 2 petrina n yin harn, whom i alwiz call during late nights n complain, thanks a lot. Eventhough we are not working 2gether, but we r still d famous infamous siamese tripplets. (P/s: ppl still remember us as "d three of u")

But, it's a good learning experience working as a DPP. It trains u into becoming a better advocate. Although is tough, i'm enjoying wat i do because this is wat i like best. To all my fellow frens, hope everyone is good aswell.

thank goodness d weather is clear 2day n everything is fine in kota tinggi...i got d news frm d court staff in kota tinggi, BUT she said 2 me, everything n anything can happen.

ok, now wat??

do i have a choice?? or should i "berkhidmat untuk negara"??

this is d forth month in d agency.......

i juz came back frm lahad datu, sabah; it was great experience. it took almost half day 2 reach there, 2 1/2 hours flight frm KLIA 2 KK n another hour flight 2 tawau. then, another 2 1/2 hour drive frm tawau 2 lahad datu....long journey. well, i doze off most of d time, having nothing much 2 do on the plane n also d car. sight seeing??? u can't juz look at d window all d time, can't u???

well, d food there was really good. i mean seafood, coz d place was juz next 2 d sea, so d seafood was real cheap n fresh. but, i still miss everything in d peninsular, frm family n frens...even macdonalds n KFC. well, u can't find those stuff there.

it was a great experience, i've improve my skill in organizing my stuff. u see, having 2 stay there for 5 days means i have 2 bring lots of clothing n stuff, plus my files n statutes n authorities. i manage 2 put everything in 2 bags, but taking it all d way 2 KLIA n back home......difficult, but can manage.

first time ever i attended court at 8.30am til 5.00pm, n only an hour break in between. having 2 b standing 3 days n none stop talking n questioning witnesses, i had a bad cough n yet 2 recover. well, in case some of u might wonder wat i'm doing currently...it's criminal litigation. well, juz in case someone have been reading our 'vox' magazine, it's something i've alwiz wanted 2 do. many thanks 2 prof gurdial, i'm making use all d advocacy skills he taught last semester. well, i've practically master those skills yet...still having difficulty 2 prepare questions in a none leading manner. well, E.I.C (examination in cheif) is surely difficult. practice makes perfect. only time can tell how far i can go.

basically, i'm rushing everything, so dun hv much time 2 travel around d town n have a look around. when i step into d airport, d driver warned me about 'pirates' in lahad datu, coz it's near d sea. 'Near' d sea means tat d sea is juz a few blocks away, n 10 minutes walk frm d hotel which i'm staying. so, i spend three days worrying whether d pirates might suddenly decide 2 rob d little town?? thank goodness d wheather was good, bright sun n no tunder storm as d forecast pridicted.

it's exactly 1 month since my convocation. it was great. 2 those who i've got a chance 2 take pictures, many thanks 2 u guys. u guys were simply d best. 2 those who i din manage 2 snap a photo with, so so so sorry. many thanks 2 college juniors n d little kids for d lovely gifts n flowers...n d cheering n warm wishes n also d throwing, well it was kinna scary, but i had fun. hei, i've waited 4 years for this event. 2 my buddy family, tq tq tq so much for making this event a memorable one. i simply love u guys. well, sorry about d convo party which i have promised, i still can't make it due 2 d busy schedule........to mum n dad n sis, thanks 4 coming, especially sis, 2 take another day off frm work. sorry 4 keeping u guys waiting long hours under d sun....

yes, b4 i forget, congrats 2 petrina n yin harn for getting short calls. 6 more months 2 go when u guys r finally call 2 bar. so, all d best guys.
