however, does it not bear any signifigance??
i was reading the nation "new" leaders' reaction and most of them don't seem to think that it was a referendum from the rakyat ...they were claming that the feel good factor towards the "new" leadership is yet to sink in.....

couldn't they juz open their hearts and at least to the rakyat's voice...this has nothing to do with the "new" leadership...wat matters most is the leaders (i mean all of them, be it BN or PR) is to lead and rule this nation, our nation fairly, transparently and most important of all, effectively.

my dear leaders, i respect all of you...but, there is still so much to be done and yet undone...and we are only 11 more years towards vision 2020...or is it a mere dream??

New Year Resolution

25岁了，突然有种觉悟，不改变是不行的！

The Race Relation Act

51 years of independence and the Malaysians pride themselves for able to live together in peace and harmony despite the difference in race, religion and culture. After the 'squatters' comment by Ahmad Ismail, ministers and NGOs mooted for the idea for having a Race Relation Act. I can't help but wondering whether such proposal is only a knee-jerk reaction to something bad that has been uttered by 'someone'? If it is true, it is utmost unfortunate.

For the look of things, everything that happen in this country is drawn along racial lines. From political parties to schools. Any initiative to promote unity and diversity among the people is a good one. However, such law should not be manipulated and abused. The law should call for equal treatment for all law-abiding citizens and to ensure no discrimination of any sort. Our politicians should stop playing the race card just to gain political support.

3 year suspension

Ahmad Ismail was suspended from UMNO for having made THE provocative statements.

So, he was being punished. The question is, is it an adequate punishment?

He had insulted and humiliated the whole chinese community, and also throw the whole country into racial and political chaos. And all he gets is just a three year suspension??!! Shouldn't him be sacked from the party for the shame and damage he had done??!! And the most funny part is he is given a chance to appeal so there is a possibility that he got his punishment to be reduced to 3 months or even less.

It is disappointing when the UMNO supreme council has not even directed that idiot to apologize to the chinese community. Even the issue of tearing Tan Sri Koh's phone was not address by the counsil. This is totally unacceptable. This incident has took place and it has taited UMNO's and also the BN's reputation.

When the UMNO leader declared that the 'penumpang' statement has nothing to do with the party and it was totally Ahmad's personal opinion, why was the UMNO Secretary General TengKU Adnan attending the immediate press-conference held by Ahmad?? This actually convey a message that the statement was not just a personal bravodo by Ahmad but has also gain strong and powerful backing up by UMNO.

It is obvious that this 'stern' action was totally not stern... ... I'm sad for the nation... ....

Young lawyer without the approriate attire

The News Straits Times recently reported that The Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Gopal Sri Ram actually hammered a young lawyer for not wearing the robe and bib when making an appearance in the Court of Appeal.

This, in a nutshell, was the message that Court of Appeal judge Datuk Gopal Sri Ram had for a young lawyer yesterday who appeared before a panel of judges without the required apparel. He initially offered the lawyer , called to the bar three months ago, a hint by saying "I can't hear you.' When the lawyer, who was also not wearing a bib around her neck, did not take the bait but continued addressing the court, Sri Ram told her that she was not suitably attired. The judge then asked her whether she was told that it was fundamental for a lawyer to be fully attired before appearing in court. To this, the lawyer, who had come to court to withdraw an appeal in a civil case, replied that she did not know about the requirement as she had not been told about it. On hearing this, Sri Ram took the Bar Council to task for "not doing anything' to address falling standards and respect for the court. He also criticised the legal profession for the deterioration in standards. Sri Ram said the legal firm which employed the lawyer and her master during her pupillage should also be held equally responsible. He said he had instructed a senior assistant registrar to lodge a complaint with the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board against her employer, and her master. The court later instructed another lawyer to take over her matter. Also sitting with Sri Ram were Datuk Vincent Ng and Datuk Sulaiman Daud.

Well, i know i should be sympathetic for the young lawyer as she was being torn to bits by Datuk Gopal. But, initially i feel that her attitude was unacceptable. Whoever is in the legal profession knows that they must wear a robe and a bib when appearing in the High Court/the Superior Courts for a open court matter.Eventhough is just to withdraw an appeal. This is fundamental. All right, assuming that she really don't know about the requirement, won't she felt awkward when she appeared in the court house when every single person at the bar table is fully attired??!!

The fall of a rising star

Dr Chua, within 24 hours after admitting that he was the man in the sex video tape, quit all his posts.

His action has definately caused his family to suffer in grieve, and for he himself, it's a political suicide. However, i must offer my respect for the former health minister for having the guts to admit and apology for making such a great mistake. Knowing the consequences that his political career will be doomed forever, he owns up to it. This has certainly set a good example to other Y.B.s: to admit that you have done wrong, do not tell lies coz the rakyat ain stupid.

Well, i respect his courage to admit his mistakes, does not mean that i acknowledge his action. A man, being a father and a HUSBAND, must remain faithful and loyal to your family. A nation leader, must be aware that you are elected by the rakyat and you are there to serve the rakyat and set a good example for a rakyat. That tape, is an infringment to privacy; but, that's also part of the political game. So, beware, don't be naugthy; once you get caught, goodbye forever. Well, unless you are some 'thick-skin' people...

Year end...

Today is the 12th of December 2007, 19 more days to the new year 2008.

It's about time i do a little of year end review. 2007, so many things happened.

Graduation is definately top of my list. 4 years of hard work n i only got about 10 seconds on stage n that's it. Nevertheless, it does feel great to have the oppoturnity to wear the purple colour gown (despite the fact that i had to get help from almost every lady in the family to help me put on the blue shash.)

When most of the classmates were busy finding a place to chamber, i've already got an offer from the AG's chamber. Well, most people have ask me why i don't want to chamber? Well, it's a difficult question. I myself are still wondering whether i've made the right decision to join service eventhough i've been here for almost 6th months. Everyone has plans for each other. There are still more to learn and more to discover. I guess it's still too early to draw conclusion whether it's a right or wrong decision. I need some time to reflect where do i go from here, and how to excel in work without have to scarifice the valuable principles which i'm holding on to.

Eventhough i've left law school, i still miss it. It definately the best time in my life of being a law student. It's tough but when you have good frens to be with you during ups and downs, you can manage.

D 5th month

This is my 5th month working wit d agency... and i'm still surviving...it's juz i now sigh more often.
5 months are not long enough, but it seems 2 me tat i've went through a long journey...

I've always determined 2 become a DPP...and i'm now part of d prosecution team. My heard was full of excitement when i learn that i was posted 2 d prosecution division. It was like a dream come true.

I know DPP has a difficult job 2 do...when i started, i realised it is much more difficult than i thought. Come on, it's a life n liberty of a person tat we are talking about; and also d public's interest. The workload is juz overwhelming. I've lots of files 2 read, reseach 2 do, reports 2 write, bosses 2 brief, and also d travelling. Not forgetting 2 mention d tension when handling a case in court. (I got real panic when my opponent is a senior lawyer who 'looks' very kind.)

But...somehow, i manage. Thank goodness i have d bosses n frens around who is willing 2 lend a helping hand n guide me. And also 2 petrina n yin harn, whom i alwiz call during late nights n complain, thanks a lot. Eventhough we are not working 2gether, but we r still d famous infamous siamese tripplets. (P/s: ppl still remember us as "d three of u")

But, it's a good learning experience working as a DPP. It trains u into becoming a better advocate. Although is tough, i'm enjoying wat i do because this is wat i like best. To all my fellow frens, hope everyone is good aswell.

do i have a choice?? or should i "berkhidmat untuk negara"??

this is d forth month in d agency.......

i juz came back frm lahad datu, sabah; it was great experience. it took almost half day 2 reach there, 2 1/2 hours flight frm KLIA 2 KK n another hour flight 2 tawau. then, another 2 1/2 hour drive frm tawau 2 lahad datu....long journey. well, i doze off most of d time, having nothing much 2 do on the plane n also d car. sight seeing??? u can't juz look at d window all d time, can't u???

well, d food there was really good. i mean seafood, coz d place was juz next 2 d sea, so d seafood was real cheap n fresh. but, i still miss everything in d peninsular, frm family n frens...even macdonalds n KFC. well, u can't find those stuff there.

it was a great experience, i've improve my skill in organizing my stuff. u see, having 2 stay there for 5 days means i have 2 bring lots of clothing n stuff, plus my files n statutes n authorities. i manage 2 put everything in 2 bags, but taking it all d way 2 KLIA n back home......difficult, but can manage.

first time ever i attended court at 8.30am til 5.00pm, n only an hour break in between. having 2 b standing 3 days n none stop talking n questioning witnesses, i had a bad cough n yet 2 recover. well, in case some of u might wonder wat i'm doing currently...it's criminal litigation. well, juz in case someone have been reading our 'vox' magazine, it's something i've alwiz wanted 2 do. many thanks 2 prof gurdial, i'm making use all d advocacy skills he taught last semester. well, i've practically master those skills yet...still having difficulty 2 prepare questions in a none leading manner. well, E.I.C (examination in cheif) is surely difficult. practice makes perfect. only time can tell how far i can go.

basically, i'm rushing everything, so dun hv much time 2 travel around d town n have a look around. when i step into d airport, d driver warned me about 'pirates' in lahad datu, coz it's near d sea. 'Near' d sea means tat d sea is juz a few blocks away, n 10 minutes walk frm d hotel which i'm staying. so, i spend three days worrying whether d pirates might suddenly decide 2 rob d little town?? thank goodness d wheather was good, bright sun n no tunder storm as d forecast pridicted.

it's exactly 1 month since my convocation. it was great. 2 those who i've got a chance 2 take pictures, many thanks 2 u guys. u guys were simply d best. 2 those who i din manage 2 snap a photo with, so so so sorry. many thanks 2 college juniors n d little kids for d lovely gifts n flowers...n d cheering n warm wishes n also d throwing, well it was kinna scary, but i had fun. hei, i've waited 4 years for this event. 2 my buddy family, tq tq tq so much for making this event a memorable one. i simply love u guys. well, sorry about d convo party which i have promised, i still can't make it due 2 d busy schedule........to mum n dad n sis, thanks 4 coming, especially sis, 2 take another day off frm work. sorry 4 keeping u guys waiting long hours under d sun....
